Virtualisation Performance

With the advent of virtualisation has come the increased move towards a more distributed working environment. Datacenters are now serving more and more branch and remote offices, as well an ever growing mobile workforce.

The network traffic leaving the datacentre, no matter its endpoint, will invariably have to cross WAN infrastructure - or even “The Cloud”. This presents a challenge to the infrastructure team who need to ensure that all clients, no matter how they connect – or where they connect from, get the optimum working experience; That must include being able to do so in a secure manner. The ability to securely accelerate WAN traffic, whether it is to a remote office or to a mobile user on a mobile device, is the key to success with virtualisation deployments.

The performance of the Virtual Hosts and VM's themselves is also of paramount importance. The failure of a Virtual Host will often have a much larger damage footprint than if it was a physical host. Therefore it is important to ensure that virtualisation environments are continuously monitored. Proactively monitoring the Hosts and the VM's will enable the virtualisation team to deliver the very best service to their “consumers”.
